How to Play
The Basics
This is an adaptation of the classic "Yellow Car" game, however there is no hitting or violence of any kind in our game. Instead, we're using Social Tagging!
If a player sees a yellow car they snap a picture of the car, share on instagram and TAG the photo with @yellofruit and use Hashtag #Yellowcar AND tag a friend.
Tagging a friend is the equivalent of a tap to the arm. You're saying "Hey! I saw a Yellow Car!" "It's your turn!"
Only those that TAG @yellofruit will be counted as official contest entries. (What contest? See below)
Cars and Colours
Only passenger cars and trucks can be used in the game. The definition of "Cars" is a vehicle primarily designed to carry passengers.
Examples of "Not Cars" - A Yellow Bulldozer. A Yellow Snowmobile. A Yellow Boat. A Yellow Skateboard.
Only cars that are yellow are allowed. The definition of yellow can be down to interpretation, but a reasonable person must believe the car to be Yellow to qualify.
Only cars which are at least 50% yellow are acceptable. Two-tone, big stripes, etc are all great-- as long as it's at least 50% Yellow.
Calling
Calling out "Yellow Car" is not necessary, but funny to watch people do. A player may however yell it out to their companions so they too can get an entry in the contest. They must take their own unique photo, and cannot re-share, repost, or duplicate an existing photo. (Winning entries will be scrutinized for the contest.)
Reusing Cars
Once a car has been used it can not be used again with the same picture/photo, however someone else can take a different picture of the same car and share it.
The Rewards
What are the Prizes?
The winners will take home over $1000 in Groceries compliments of Yellofruit, as well as instant win product prizes from exciting partners every week.
When is the grand prize draw?
Contest Opens July 1, 2021, closes August 31st, 2021 at 11:59pm
Draws will happen September 4, 2021.
Winners will be verified and notified after that.
How do I get contest entries?
Put a photo that you have taken, of a Yellow car you have just seen, on instagram and tag the photo with @yellofruit and tag a friend and hashtag the post with #yellowcar .
Our team will count all eligible entries from the contest period using various methods, and the winners will be drawn from those qualified entries, both weekly for instant win prizes as well as the grand prize.
Rules and FAQ
Where do I enter?
You don't need to actually enter to start playing. You can take pictures of Yellow cars, tag your friends and @Yellofruit on Instagram, and the rest will take care of itself.
Who can enter?
Anyone can play the game, but to win the contest, you must be a Canadian resident and be 18 years old by the time the draw happens.
What is the prize?
We'll pick 10 winners, and each will get $100 worth of Grocery Gift Cards (total) from Metro, Sobeys, and/or Loblaws for a total of $1000 CAD in prizes. We'll also select "Instant Winners" who are people who have played the game properly during the contest period, and they'll be selected randomly to receive instant win prizes from our partners. Example: Free Pint of Yellofruit coupon.
Do I have to buy anything?
No. No purchase Necessary.
What about people's privacy?
Please respect other people and their property. There's no need for license plates or peoples faces in a photo for it to qualify.
Also
Don't use your phone while you're driving.
Don't use photos you find on the internet.
Be kind to one another.
Respect people's property and vehicles and personal space.
The contest part of this game is not affiliated or endorsed by Instagram, Facebook, Loblaws, Sobeys, Metro, or any other related companies or brands.
